Tzohar’s website – As a result of Tzohar’s success in making
contact with the secular community, it has become the preferred
address for that community in regard to a large number of issues.
The innovation here is not the referrals on matters of Judaism and
Halachah, but questions on matters of couple relations, the education
of children, parenting, and others. Tzohar’s office receives about
four thousand referrals from non-religious people each year (more
than 300 per month).
As a result, a website was established on the
Internet aimed to appeal to the general public. The site invites
people to get in touch, to ask for advice, and to join in building
a Jewish community with shared content in the framework of the website.
The website includes clear, easily accessible Jewish information
and a forum for public discussion in which both secular and rabbinical
figures express their opinions on couple relations, parenting, the
education of children, and other matters.
A rabbi at your service
- One of the new items on the website is a network of rabbis who
are located all over the State of Israel, and who are available
to people who live in their area. The website allows the visitor
to see a photo of the rabbi, with some biographical information
about him, and invites direct referrals to him. We believe that
this internet service can bring about direct contact between members
of the general public and rabbis who live nearby. Direct contact
can lead to an ongoing relationship between the rabbi and his neighbors,
and could even lead to the establishment of new communities around
the figure of the rabbi.
It should be noted that thousands of referrals
to the Tzohar website are recorded each month. We are currently
working to raise the funds which will enable us to broaden the website’s
exposure and visibility through advertising.
